Patriots to sign S John Saunders off of Dolphins practice squad

Details
29 October 2025

The Patriots traded Kyle Dugger to the Steelers on Tuesday and they're set to add another safety to their roster on Wednesday.

Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports that the team is planning to sign John Saunders off of the Dolphins' practice squad.

Saunders went undrafted after posting three interceptions and four forced fumbles at Ole Miss last season. He visited the Patriots as part of the pre-draft process, but wound up signing with Miami.

The Patriots also traded defensive lineman Keion White to the 49ers on Tuesday, which leaves them with another open roster spot to fill as they head into Week 9.

Vikings add QB John Wolford to practice squad

Details
29 October 2025

With Carson Wentz out for the season, the Vikings have added a veteran quarterback.

Minnesota has signed John Wolford to its practice squad, the team announced on Wednesday morning.

Wolford, 30, was most recently with the Jaguars last season and in this year’s training camp before he was released in late August. But he played under Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell with the Rams when O’Connell was Los Angeles’ offensive coordinator from 2020-2021.

Wolford has appeared in seven career regular-season games with four starts — all for the Rams. He has not appeared in a contest since 2022.

J.J. McCarthy is expected to start at QB for the Vikings when they play the Lions in Week 9. Max Brosmer also remains on the roster at quarterback.

Lamar Jackson confirms he was the one who asked Ravens to remove ping-pong tables, games from locker room

Details
29 October 2025

Baltimore Ravens star Lamar Jackson wasn't able to play the past couple weeks, but still found a way to make an impact with the team. Turns out, Jackson was the main voice behind the Ravens removing ping-pong tables and games from the team's locker room amid its poor start to the season.

Jackson confirmed as much Tuesday, saying he wanted his teammates to focus on turning things around after starting the year 1-5.

"I told Kenico [Hines], our head equipment guy, I told him to take all the games and ping-pong and turn the TVs off. If we could have took the TVs out, they would have been out too. I appreciate Mr. Steve [Bisciotti] for putting that in there for us, but we had to focus.

"I don't want to say people don't take the job serious, don't get me wrong, but I don't feel like it was the time for that. We've got a lot of work to do."

Jackson was asked about his role in the team removing games from the locker room after veteran Marlon Humphrey revealed Jackson was at the center of the tactic. Jackson wasn't upset that his name was leaked and happily answered the question.

Jackson said he does not anticipate those games to return to the locker room until next season. For now, he wants the Ravens focused on getting back to their winning ways.

The team accomplished that Sunday, beating the Chicago Bears 30-16. The win pushed the Ravens to 2-5, keeping the team alive in a shaky AFC North.

While the Ravens still have a lot of work to do to get to a winning record, help is on the way. Jackson is ready to return from his hamstring injury, and is expected to play against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night.
