The United States will have an automatic berth in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic baseball and softball tournaments and the top two other nations from the Americas in next month's World Baseball Classic will earn berths. Major League Baseball hopes big leaguers will be able to participate in the six-nation tournament, to be played at Dodger Stadium from July 13-19 during what could be an extended All-Star break. An agreement with the Major League Baseball Players Association is needed.
