McDaniel still wants to be a head coach again someday, but he chose to join the Los Angeles Chargers alongside Jim Harbaugh and Justin Herbert because the combination of time, place and personnel seemed perfect for this idiosyncratic coach who also happens to be one of the top offensive minds in football. “It didn’t take long for me to feel this is what I was looking for,” the Bolts' new offensive coordinator said Tuesday.
