Dolphins receiver Jaylen Waddle 'questionable' for Thursday's game against Bills

Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle is one of three Miami Dolphins players listed as "questionable" for their Thursday night game against the 2-0 Buffalo Bills.

The others are defensive tackle Benito Jones and linebacker Chop Robinson, who are dealing with oblique and knee issues, respectively. Cornerback Storm Duck (ankle), safety Ifeatu Melifonwu (calf) and tight end Darren Waller (hip) will be sidelined for the midweek contest.

Waddle has a lingering shoulder injury that he suffered during a season-opening loss to the Indianapolis Colts and then played through in a 33-27 defeat to the New England Patriots last week.

The fifth-year Dolphins receiver was a limited participant in Tuesday and Wednesday's practices, however, he didn't indicate that his game status was in doubt when talking to reporters Tuesday, according to the Miami Herald.

Although Waddle didn't have an injury designation going into last week's game against the Patriots, he was limited in practice leading up to that matchup, too. It's possible his designation this time around is a result of the Dolphins' short week.

Either way, Waddle's "questionable" status is one to monitor ahead of the AFC East showdown.

Waddle, who fell short of the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the first time in his young career during the 2024 campaign, has tallied nine receptions for 98 yards and a touchdown over his first two games this season.

Last week, he scored the Dolphins' first touchdown of the game. The speedy 2021 first rounder got a step on Patriots cornerback Alex Austin, extended his hands in the end zone and reeled in an 18-yard pass from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa early in the second quarter.

Waddle finished the day with five grabs for 68 yards, including that touchdown reception. He was targeted six times in the loss.
