Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow was forced to exit Week 2's matchup vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first half due to a left toe injury and did not return. He was seen in a walking boot after the game, per Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Inquirer.

With Burrow sidelined, the Bengals turned to backup QB Jake Browning to lead the offense. With plenty of big-name fantasy football stars on Cincy — Ja'Marr Chase, Chase Brown, Tee Higgins — the absence of Burrow could be big for lineups. We're going to go over how those players (and the rest of the skill players in Cincy) performed in Week 2 despite Burrow missing most of the game.
Ja'Marr Chase — 14 catches on 16 targets for 165 and a TD
Chase managers probably started packing up for the season after Burrow left. But that would have been foolish. How could you not trust Browning?!
Anyway, Chase proved why he was the consensus No. 1 overall pick in fantasy football and one of the NFL's best receivers. Just get him the ball and watch what he does with it. Chase finished Week 2 just shy of 30 fantasy points on Yahoo, somehow not the highest total because things got a bit nutty. For now, it appears Chase is fine regardless of which QB is in there. We don't know if Burrow will miss time, but if he does, Browning should look Chase's way enough for him to maintain value in fantasy as a WR1. It is worth noting the TD Chase caught was from Burrow, not Browning.
Chase Brown — 16 carries for 47 yards, two catches on three targets for 18 yards
This was a back-and-forth game, and while Brown wasn't very productive (7.5 fantasy points), he still had elite-level touches and usage. Burrow's absence shouldn't impact Brown's usage; if anything, it may mean some weeks the Bengals actually lean into the run game. It's great for managers that no other RB had a carry in Week 2; the only other rusher was Browning. There weren't any question marks; this was Brown's backfield but this just solidifies things. We'd like to see Brown find the end zone, but the TDs should come. Don't panic just yet on Brown no matter what happens with Burrow.
Tee Higgins — three catches on eight targets for 56 yards and a TD
A 42-yard TD toward the end of the third quarter helped Higgins salvage his Week 2. Had that not happened, we'd be a bit concerned. He would have finished with just two catches on seven targets for 14 yards. But that's show biz, baby! Higgins may take a value hit if Burrow is out. Clearly, Browning felt comfortable going with Chase as a first read in most passing situations. The QB was able to find Higgins for the big play but the WR beat coverage and then the Jaguars' defenders ran into each other, so it was kind of a broken play. Proceed with caution on Higgins if Burrow misses any time. Higgins could become very boom-bust.
Everyone else
Mitchell Tinsley — yes, you got that right — found the end zone. Tinsley is a depth receiver who was thrust into duty with Jermaine Burton sidelined. He caught a 13-yard TD pass from Browning but that was his only catch and target in the game. Andrei Iosivas had five targets but only one catch for 12 yards. Tight ends Noah Fant and Mike Gesicki each had four targets and three catches; the former had 28 yards and the latter with 18 yards. Regardless, you weren't playing any of those guys in fantasy football and you won't be moving forward, whether Burrow is out or not.
