Members of the Professional Hockey Players’ Association have voted to authorize its bargaining committee to call for a strike if an agreement cannot be reached on a new collective bargaining agreement with the ECHL, union executive director Brian Ramsay said Monday. The ECHL in an update posted to its website said the union had informed players the move could happen as soon as Thursday after the holiday break. Ramsay said a timeline would be communicated to members later in the day.
