NFL reviewing application of concussion protocol for Giants QB Jaxson Dart during win over Eagles

The NFL said Friday that it has initiated a review of the Giants' application of the concussion protocol to QB Jaxson Dart during Thursday night's win over the Philadelphia Eagles, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Both the Giants and head coach Brian Daboll could face discipline, depending what the NFL finds in its review, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Dart took a hard hit and was evaluated for a concussion toward the end of the third quarter (2:32 remaining) with New York up, 27-17. He went into the blue medical tent with team doctors and was followed by Dabolland RB Cam Skattebo, who were trying to check in on the QB's status.

With Dart in the medical tent, Russell Wilson came in and ran two plays before the Giants punted.

Dart was cleared and returned to the field on the following drive, helping New York finish the job and beat Philadelphia for its first division win in over a season. The rookie finished the Week 6 game with 195 yards passing and one TD, plus 58 yards rushing and another score.

Daboll said after the win that he apologized to the team physician for trying to enter the medical tent, saying he just wanted to know how to proceed when it came to Dart's status. The coach reiterated his comments during Friday's Zoom session with reporters, making it clear he simply asked how Dart was doing.
