A California hospital axed an emergency room doctor on Friday after she was caught on video ridiculing and cursing a Black patient who had a serious condition.

El Camino Hospital notified its medical contractor to permanently remove Dr. Beth Keegstra from its list of emergency room physicians at its facilities, the hospital’s CEO Dan Woods said in a statement which also apologized to the patient, 20-year-old Samuel Bardwell.

Woods called Keegstra’s bedside manner “unprofessional” and below the hospital’s standard of care.

Bardwell was rushed to the emergency room on June 11 after he suffered an apparent anxiety attack and passed out after a basketball workout at West Valley College in Saratoga, California.

While lying on the hospital bed waiting to see a doctor, Bardwell asked his father to record the interaction with Keegstra after he saw her speaking to a security guard and looking at him suspiciously, the student told ABC News.

The video of her abusive treatment went viral:

She berated him for being unable to sit up in the bed. “I’m sorry, sir, you were the least sick of all the people who are here, who are dying,” she told him. And when the Bardwell complained that he couldn’t inhale and felt pain and numbness, the doctor sarcastically responded, “He can’t inhale! Wow! He must be dead. Are you dead, sir? I don’t understand, you are breathing just fine.”

“You’re full of sh*t!” she told Bardwell, as he tried to explain his condition.

‘Pure Disgust:’ Woman Drags Restaurant After She Says Maggots Were In Her Jerk Chicken

A Black woman said she found maggots in her jerk chicken at a Caribbean restaurant in Florida recently.

Keondra White was sick after eating a plate of food at the Caribbean Sunrise Restaurant and Bakery, Action News Jax, a local news source, reported Thursday (June 14). White posted a video that showed the live maggots in her dish.

“It was just pure disgust, something you can’t fathom seeing that,” White said.

Of course, the restaurant was none too pleased to hear about White’s complaint. The owner of the Caribbean Sunrise restaurant claimed that the food was “safe,” disputing the woman’s story and blaming the issue on her.

“I have no idea what the customer did (with) the food,” Denise Daley, the restaurant’s owner, said to Action News Jax, “but once the food leaves here, we have no control over what happens to it.”

Daley, who vehemently denied any wrongdoing, said the jerk chicken is cooked in an oven, smoked on a grill and stored in a hot box. The chicken is later heated in a microwave before it goes to customer, she added.

The restaurant, however, has a questionable history when it comes to food safety. Health inspectors found flies in the restaurant’s kitchen and dining area on Friday (June 15), Action News Jax reported. Food does not have to be sitting out for long periods of time for flies to be attracted to it and lay eggs, a nutrition professor told the outlet.

Additionally, the restaurant had received a violation for not putting food, including beef and chicken, in a cold storage area. With the recent violations, it looks as if White has done a good service in sharing her story so other customers know what they may have to deal with at Caribbean Sunrise restaurant.

Everything We Know About Ex-NFL Player Kellen Winslow Jr. Sex Crimes Charges

Kellen Winslow Jr.’s family has spoken out after several sex crimes have been traced to the former NFL player.

The ex-tight end for the New York Jets was arrested Thursday (June 14) and jailed over charges that he raped and attempted to rape four women during a three-month time period in Encinitas, California, according to court documents. Winslow, 34, allegedly raped, kidnapped and threatened to murder both a 59-year-old woman and 54-year-old woman in March and in May, respectively, in his SUV. He also attempted to rape a 71- and 86-year-old woman, prosecutors said.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges Friday in San Diego County Superior Court, Fox 8 reported.

Winslow’s family addressed the charges in a statement. “On behalf of our son and my husband, we want to reiterate our love, support and affection for him during this difficult process,” read the statement by Winslow Jr.’s wife, Janelle, and father, Kellen Winslow Sr. “We will always be there for him and we know the true facts will come out.”

The ex-NFL player was previously arrested on June 7 after a report of a burglary in Park Encinitas, a senior community located in Encinitas, California. He faced first-degree burglary charges from that incident, NBC Bay Area reported.

Additionally, Winslow also faces one count of indecent exposure in an unrelated case. He indecently exposed himself in public on May 24, according to the NBC report.

Deputies were surveilling Winslow during the time period of the reported sex crimes, however, they did not specify what prompted their actions or when officials began looking into the former NFL player. Winslow, who was ordered to return June 25 for a preliminary hearing, could face a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.

Religious Rights Of Border Detainees Under Scrutiny As Black Ministers Condemn Trump’s Baby Snatcher Immigration Policy

African-American religious leaders are demanding that immigration detainees are allowed to exercise their right to clergy visits, as they take a stand against President Donald Trump’s immoral policy of separating children from their parents.

The Rev. Al Sharpton, president and founder of the National Action Network, announced Monday that social justice leaders will hold a press conference on Tuesday in Washington, D.C., to urge the Trump administration to end its policy of separating families at the U.S. border.

Meanwhile, Sharpton and other clergy plan to visit separated families held in detention by immigration officials. They are calling on U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions to permit the visit because “all have the right to a ministerial visit,” a statement said.

African-American clergy are part of the growing opposition to Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy against anyone caught crossing the border illegally into the United States, including those who are seeking asylum. Under the policy, the government is separating families. The Department of Health and Human Services has taken more than 11,000 children from their parent, according to figures from the Washington Post.

It’s simple: this Administration is committing a human rights abuse along our southern border. Call your representatives and demand they tell the Administration to end this policy or pass our #KeepFamiliesTogether Act before thousands more children are separated.

Sessions defended the administration’s policy on Thursday by quoting scripture (Romans 13), which he interpreted as a directive from God to obey government laws for the purpose creating an orderly society.

That comment received quick rebuke from members of the Black clergy.

“The Bible does not justify discrimination masked as racism, sexism, economic inequality, oppression or the abuse of children,” said a statement from the Council of Bishops of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Political and civil leaders are continuing to push for passage of the Keep Families Together Act (S. 3036) to stop family separations. California’s Dem
