John Pont, Who Coached Indiana to Rose Bowl, Dies at 80
Mr. Pont was a football-coaching lifer who was best remembered for taking Indiana University to its first bowl game in 1968.

Mr. Jones was the deep-voiced sportscaster whose career as a play-by-play announcer dated to the beginning of the American Football League in 1960.

John Rauch, 80, Coached Raiders and Bills in N.F.L., Is Dead
Mr. Rauch coached the Oakland Raiders in the second Super Bowl and was later O. J. Simpson’s first coach in professional football with the Buffalo Bills.

Considered by Kansans to have been one of the state’s greatest athletes, Mr. Schnellbacher was an all-pro defensive back for the N.F.L. Giants and also played pro basketball.
