Brainy Quadruplets All Gain Admission to Yale University

December 19, 2009

Yes. Yes. Yes. And a shocking fourth time -- Yes.

In a rare quad-fecta, four siblings from Danbury, Conn., have been accepted to Yale University for the fall, according to local media reports. It's the first time anyone can remember the school accepting quadruplets, The New York Times reported.

The 18-year-old Crouch quadruplets are all high school standouts, and are used to some attention, but this one took them by surprise.

After a campus tour, the siblings asked about the odds of all four getting in.

"He said, 'To be honest, we would probably not take all four of you,'" Martina Crouch told local station WTNH.

All four have different strengths. Kenneth is the brain, Martina is the artist, Carol is the writer and Ray is the runner.

They learned of their Ivy League acceptance on Tuesday, and the four have some serious decisions to make. Yale carries a heavy price tag, one the students worry their parents may not be able to afford. They applied to other colleges, and are waiting to hear from those schools as well.
